Kylen Systems Group (KSG) was founded in April of 2002 by David J. Kylen, past President and CEO of Computer Applications Unlimited, Inc., developers of Solution/One HME Systems, to provide exceptional operational and automation systems support, including web design and Internet connectivity to companies in need of a comprehensive solution to their automation needs. With over 30 years experience in the application of technology, software design, networking, and web site development, KSG was conceived to become the "enterprise" solution for all the technology and operational analysis requirements of today's corporations.

As the Senior Managing Partner, Kylen's involvement in the industry started in 1974 when he accepted a position with Pennsylvania Blue Shield as a Research Analyst and was responsible for designing software to track Medicare procedure utilization for HCFA. After a 5 years with Blue Shield, David moved on to Pennsylvania Hospital Insurance Company (Phico), where his responsibilities included the management of application and systems development for the company. In 1981, David and a group of software designers in the Harrisburg, PA area were approached by Harrisburg Health Care to design a comprehensive, integrated HME management systems for their Prime minicomputers. After 2 year, the project was complete and named "Primers" which stood for PRIme Medical Equipment Rental System and another company was created to market the product nationally. The new company was incorporated as Contract Computer Systems, Inc. (CCSI) and David became the Director of Computer Services for the organization.

After the advent of the IBM PC XT in 1983, CCSI directed it's efforts to create an integrated HME software package for the new PC market. The result was a product called "Duramed" which was one of the first HME systems available for the PC environment and unique in the fact that is was transportable over multiple operating systems, including MSDOS and XENIX.

In 1987 CCSI was sold to ARtrac. Seeing additional opportunities in the HME software market, David Kylen in conjunction with 3 other partners founded Computer Applications Unlimited, Inc. (CAU) and began work on the now nationally recognized HME software product - Solution/One. Over the next 15 years, David has been involved in all aspects of the industry including software development, marketing, regulation compliance, web design, and operational consulting.

In April, 2002, David sold his position in CAU in order to form KSG to further investigate how the latest technology can be effectively implemented by businesses today and into the future.
